1. WHAT IS TPU FOAM?

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) foam is a type of foam material that is known for its durability, flexibility, and resistance to abrasion. It is commonly used in various applications, including playmats, due to its shock-absorbing properties and ability to provide cushioning and support.

Milk It Baby Play Mats are made using 100% sustainable and non-toxic TPU Foam and are free from PVC, BPA and latex, making them the safest choice for babies and toddlers.

 

2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TPU & PVC?

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) are both synthetic materials used in various applications. While they share some similarities, there are notable differences between the two.

1. TPU is known for its flexibility, durability, and resistance to abrasion. It is also considered more environmentally friendly than PVC as it does not contain harmful chemicals like phthalates.
2. PVC is more rigid and less flexible than TPU. It is also less resistant to abrasion. PVC has been associated with environmental concerns due to its production process and potential release of toxic chemicals.

 

3. WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF YOUR PLAYMATS?

Our playmats are 200cm long, 140cm wide, and 15mm thick.

5. WHAT AGE IS THE PLAYMAT SUITABLE FOR?

Some parents continue to use playmats well into the toddler years (1-3 years old).

In conclusion, most playmats are designed for infants from 3 months old and can be used up until toddlerhood.

 

6. HOW LONG DO YOUR PLAYMATS LAST?

The lifespan of a Milk It Baby playmat, or any playmat for that matter, can depend on several factors.

Firstly, the material and construction quality of the playmat are crucial. Milk It Baby playmats are made from durable, high-quality materials, ensuring a longer lifespan.

Secondly, the frequency and type of use of a playmat significantly affect its lifespan, with daily use by active toddlers and frequent outdoor use causing faster wear and tear.

7. ARE YOUR PLAY MATS NON-TOXIC?

Yes, our City Tour Play Mats are made of premium quality TPU foam that is tested to the most vigorous standards. All of our mats are compliant to sell internationally including Europe and USA, ensuring they are tested to the EU Toy Directive to meet and exceed requirements limiting heavy metals, lead, formamide and phthalates in children's products. Our play mats are EN71 and CPSIA certified.

 

8. SHOULD I USE A RUG PAD UNDER THE PLAY MAT?

Our play mats are made from TPU foam, and are extremely soft and thickly padded. No rug or material is needed underneath our play mats.

 

9. CAN HEAVY FURNITURE OR GYM EQUIPMENT BE PLACED ON THE PLAY MATS?

TPU foam is a soft material and likely to become indented with heavy furniture on it. Please also avoid contact with sharp objects.

 

10. WHAT ARE THE CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS?

• For everyday cleaning, simply wipe down the mat with a damp cloth and water.
• For thorough cleansing, use mild dish detergent and gently wipe down.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Do not use any strong cleaning agents as it may damage / discolour the mat.
• Do not use fragranced baby wipes to clean the mat as it may contain alcohol, which is not suitable to clean TPU materials. It may cause long-term damage / discolouration.
• Avoid alcohol/ alkaline based cleaning products to keep discolouration from occuring. Excessive use may weaken the foam and cause it to easily tear.
• Do not use any sharp or hot objects around the mat, as it may damage the mat permanently.
• Do not place heavy furniture on the play mat as it may cause puncture marks over time.
• Do not leave it in direct sunlight to avoid heat damage and/or discolouration.
• Avoid wearing shoes on the mat as it may cause creases and punctures.
• Do not use pens/ permanent ink/ markers on the mat as it may not be removable.
• Do not steam clean.
• Not suitable for pets as its claws may cause punctures.

  

11. ARE YOUR PLAY MATS WATER/LIQUID RESISTANT?

Yes our play mats are wipe clean!

 

12. CAN I USE A VACUUM CLEANER ON THE PLAY MATS?

Generally yes, however please exercise caution as vacuum cleaners vary and could cause damage to the play mats if the suction power is too high.

 

13. HOW SOON WILL MY ORDER SHIP?

For local shipping within the UK, please allow 2-4 days for shipping. For other locations, please allow 1-2 weeks for international shipping.

 

14. DO YOU PROVIDE ANY WARRANTY?

We provide 3 months warranty from the time of order, if the items are defective. We do not provide warranty on normal wear and tear. Please follow the care instructions above and on the product page. Warranty is nullified if care instructions are not followed.
